The following 4 video's are of the Cob Cottage that is about 15 miles from me here on the Oregon Coast. The owners are Ianto Evans and Linda Smiley who have quite a group of talented associates helping them teach. For information see www.cobcottage.com They teach classes on how to build Cob Cottages and they sell some great books. Cob is using clay, sand and straw mixed with water. It drys to a very hard surface. It still should be protected from constant water with a large overhanging roof or as on the fences, a small roof to keep constant pounding rain from deteriorating it. They make couches, room dividers, walls, floors, oven's, just about anything you can form with your hands you can make out of cob. Including any art work shape you can imagine.
